The OCC Flickr group – Showcase your images and the club!
The OCC Flickr group is a long-established platform for posting your images, allowing both club and non-club members to enjoy them in full resolution. You can post up to six photos every week to the group. There are a plethora of other groups on Flickr to explore, be inspired by, and post to as well. Posting photographers most often share exif data, a very helpful learning tool.
You are not bound by an algorithm to the photos you see – It streams all new public postings of every photographer you choose to follow. Or, enjoy the best images posted to Flickr that day in the Explore feature, a good place to find talented photographers to follow. You can publish albums to share with friends and family – Images can be shared even if recipients do not have a Flickr account.
So, if you are not a Flickr member yet, please do so – It’s free to join (https://www.flickr.com/). And, as a second step, please join the Oakville Camera Club group. (https://www.flickr.com/groups/oakvillecamera/pool/)
Note: As a paying Flickr member, you can upload as many full-resolution images as you wish, both as JPG or raw, a handy option for cloud storage. And you have full control of the privacy of your images. Unpaid members are limited to 1000 photos. ~CAD85 for a one-year and CAD156 for a two-year plan).
Details from the OCC 2025 AGM and the presentation regarding Flickr are attached.
