Wildlife Photographer of the Year Returns — and OCC Members Get 15% Off ROM Admission

Few photography exhibitions stop you in your tracks the way Wildlife Photographer of the Year does — and this fall, it’s back at the Royal Ontario Museum with an extraordinary new collection of images that capture the drama, beauty, and fragility of our natural world.

This year’s exhibition showcases the finalists and winners from the world’s longest-running and most prestigious nature photography competition. Since 1965, the Natural History Museum in London has sponsored this global contest, drawing tens of thousands of entries from photographers of every age. From those submissions, one hundred photographs — the best of the best — are selected and presented in a vivid, immersive, back-lit display that reveals breathtaking detail and emotional depth.

Expect the unexpected: unusual species, impossible moments, delicate behaviours, and intimate glimpses into the lives of animals facing a rapidly changing planet. These images don’t just demonstrate technical mastery — they pull you into the story behind each frame.
