About the event
Spot colour photography is a technique where a photograph is primarily in black and white, but certain areas retain their original colour, drawing attention to those elements. This method can effectively highlight specific subjects within an image, making them stand out to the viewer.
Spot colour can be achieved in camera, but the colours chosen should complement one another to make the selected area stand out. Selective colour is usually achieved in post-production quite easily through most editing programs and removes colour from everything except the chosen subject. Any subject matter that works for this exploration may be used.
Explorations challenge you to try something new. They are an opportunity to drive your creativity and experiment with alternative and novel solutions and to expand your portfolio of skills and approaches.
